Classical Sequence

This form of dance has a preset of pattern movements and has been performed in ballrooms since the 17th century. Classical sequence dances include: Polkas, Gavottes, Old Time Waltz, Mazurkas, Two steps and one steps and later dances such as the Tango, Blues and Swings are now also included under this category. This style of dancing, with the exclusion of the Waltz, is actually older than most ballroom and can be performed competitively as well as socially.
